Mighty to save

My last weekend at home I went to my home church and was so encouraged by the sermon.

We started by raising our hand to survey questions from our pastor. Who is from the south, the north, who is a democrat, who was raised by single parents, who was raised in a Christian home, whose parents are still together etc.

There were quite a few people in each category and his point was to say that this idea that only people in the southern part of the United States are saved and have this sort of predisposition is not true.

We were from all over the map from all different backgrounds and situations.

And hello, look at Paul, who wrote a good chunk of the New Testament. He was formerly known as Saul and traveled the world persecuting Christians. Not only was he simply not interested, he was actively seeking to destroy the church.

Needless to say this was very encouraging to me while I am living here in atheist land.
